Pinzgau
a breed of meat-and-dairy cattle developed in the 18th and 19th centuries in the mountainous area of Pinzgau (Austrian Alps) by crossing several German breeds, including the Zillertal breed. The coat may be various shades of red, with a broad white stripe running along the back and with a white belly and head. In Austria the average milk yield is approximately 3,200 kg. The fat content is 3.9-4.0 percent. Pinzgau cattle are raised in Austria, Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, Rumania, and other countries. In the USSR the cattle are raised in mountainous regions in Chernovtsy and Ivano-Frankovsk oblasts. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
