Pio Pico State Historic Park Location: In Whittier, west of I-605 at Pioneer and Whittier boulevards. Facilities: Historic home, picnic areas (é). Activities: Guided tours. Special Features: Park commemorates the life of California's last Mexican governor before the American takeover of 1846. Once the headquarters of Pico's 8,894-acre ranch, the park includes a 19th century adobe that has recently been structurally stabilized, and facilities and grounds that have been completely renovated.
