Pirsagat

    0.01 sec.
Pirsagat

a river in the Azerbaijan SSR. It is 199 km long and drains an area of 2280 sq km. Originating in the Greater Caucasus, it flows to the southeast and terminates in a dry delta; only as a result of freshets do its waters reach the Caspian Sea. The river is fed chiefly by groundwater. The mean flow rate 144 km from the mouth is 1.2 cu m per sec. In August the river usually dries up. The Pirsagat is used for irrigation.
