Planogametes
motile male and female sex cells (gametes) in many lower plants (green and brown algae, such lower fungi as phycomycetes). Planogametes move by means of flagella. If the male and female planogametes are identical in external appearance and size, they are called isogametes. If the female gamete is larger than the male, the cells are called heterogametes.
