Plimpton, George Arthur (1855–1936) publisher, book collector; born in Walpole, Mass. As chairman of Ginn and Company starting in 1914, he expanded the publishing company worldwide; as an avocation, he assembled a remarkable collection of manuscripts and books illuminating the history of education.
