plug and pray What some people called Plug and Play on the PC when it was first introduced in the mid-1990s. Plug and Play was a major enhancement and solved the frustration of adding peripherals to a PC. However, there were some growing pains with the first new motherboards and cards; hence, "plug and pray." See Plug and Play.
