Poiasovyi Kamen’
a mountain range in the watershed of the Northern Urals in the upper reaches of the Pechora, Vishera, Severnaia Sos’va, and Loz’va rivers. The Poiasovyi Kamen’ Range is 170 km long, with elevations to 1,182 m (Mount Otorten). It is composed of crystalline schists and sandstones. The peaks are primarily flat. Up to an elevation of 700–800 m the slopes are covered with taiga forests (fir, spruce, larch, birch); at higher elevations mountain tundra and rock streams are found. Reindeer are grazed on the slopes. Want to thank TFD for its existence? Tell a friend about us, add a link to this page, add the site to iGoogle, or visit the webmaster's page for free fun content. |
