This Christmas greeting card from 1952 from Springfield's Department of Police shows the faces of 16 officers. The time series for the rate of reporting to the police shows a slight increase from 54% to 61% over the same period, although the trend is not as apparent as that seen for the domestic violence incidence rate. Its competition, the dueling police shows of CBS' ``CSI: New York'' and NBC's ``Law & Order,'' continued their seesawing. |
