Polish Radio and Television 

(Polskie Radio i Tele-wizja), a broadcasting organization that has existed as a state agency of the Polish People’s Republic since 1944. As of 1977 broadcasting within Poland was conducted on three programs. Polish Radio and Television also broadcasts abroad in Polish, English, French, German, Danish, Italian, Spanish, Finnish, Swedish, Arabic, and Esperanto. Television broadcasts were initiated in 1952 and have been conducted on a regular basis since January 1953; since 1970 there have been two channels.
