Ponta Grossa

Ponta Grossa 

a city in southern Brazil, in the state of Paraná. Population, 127,000 (1970). A railroad junction, Ponta Grossa has chemical, wood-products, food-processing, and textile industries. It is the center of an agricultural region that produces tea, tobacco, rice, and lumber. Livestock is raised in the area.
