Special Features: Located 15 miles west of Ontonagon in the Upper Peninsula, Michigan's largest state park (and only state-designated wilderness) is one of the few remaining large wilderness areas in the Midwest. Set on the shores of Lake Superior, the park includes old-growth forest and varied scenic vistas. Areas of attraction within the "Porkies" include the Lake of the Clouds viewing area, Summit Peak observation tower, and the scenic Presque Isle River corridor, which has the state's second largest waterfall. The park also contains the Porcupine Mountains Ski Area, a major Michigan winter sports area.
