Marghera 

a seaport in Italy, the industrial region for the city of Venice; located on the mainland. Marghera is a railroad junction. The seaport is a shipbuilding center. Local industries include the production of alumina, aluminum, steel, rolled metal, steam boilers, railroad equipment, and precision instruments; chemical and oil-refining industries and large mills are located there.

Enel said the 12 megawatt plant, at Fusina in Venice's industrial zone of Porto Marghera, was the first of its kind in the world to operate on such a scale.
To help prevent polluted soil from contaminating Venice's lagoon waters, a series of new measures have been introduced, including the construction and installation of large metal walls--called sheet piles--in Porto Marghera West Industrial Canal.
ECKART will be closing the production site for aluminum pastes at Porto Marghera near Venice, Italy at the end of 2006 and relocating production to the existing European sites.
