Turda

 

a city in Rumania, in Cluj District. Population, 53,200 (1974). Turda is an important center for the manufacture of ceramic products and building materials, such as cement, lime, brick, and reinforced concrete. The city has a plant that produces chlorine and soda. Industries include metalworking and food processing.
