HOOCC6H4COOK A crystalline compound, soluble in 12 parts of water; used as a buffer in pH determinations and as a primary standard for preparation of volumetric alkali solutions. Also known as acid potassium phthalate; potassium acid phthalate; potassium hydrogen phthalate.
