(electricity)
The facility in an electric power system used to transfer large amounts of power from one location to a distant location; distinguished from a subtransmission or distribution line by higher voltage, greater power capability, and greater length. Also known as electric main; main (both British usages).

The day before the Embassies of Uzbekistan in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan announced that 500 kW power transmission line Guzar-Surkhan would be put into operation at the end of November.
