Přerov (pərzhĕ`rôf), Ger. Prerau, city (1991 pop. 51,300), E Czech Republic, in Moravia. A railway center, Přerov manufactures precision instruments, textiles, and foodstuffs. The 16th-century Žerotín Castle is now a museum.
Přerov 

a city in Czechoslovakia, in North Moravia. Located on the Bečva River, a tributary of the Morava. Population, 40,000 (1970). The local machine-building industry manufactures instruments primarily for optical use; equipment for cement and metallurgical enterprises is also manufactured. Přerov also has a chemical industry, which produces fertilizers and other products, and a food-processing industry.
