Priesand, Sally Jane (1946– ) rabbi; born in Cleveland, Ohio. She earned a B.A. from the University of Cincinnati and an M.A. from Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati. She was ordained a Reform rabbi in 1972, the first woman to be so ordained in this country. She was named rabbi of Temple Beth El in Elizabeth, N.J., and went to the Monmouth Reform Temple, Tinton Falls, N.J., in 1981.
