Production Contract
in the USSR, an author’s contract for the public performance—in a theater, concert hall, or other public place—of an unpublished work. A production contract regulates relations between the author of a work and the organization responsible for production of the work. Contracts that provide for payment of a single fee to the author for any one work may be concluded with only one organization for that particular work. A work accepted by an organization must be staged or perfomed within one year of approval; for operas, ballets, and operettas, the time period is two years. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
