Also found in: Acronyms, Wikipedia 0.01 sec.
Program Manager
The control center for Windows 3.x operation. It provided the means to launch applications and manage the desktop. Although the interface changed in Windows 95, Program Manager has been included for those users who prefer this method of launching programs. The file PROGMAN.EXE is included in Windows 95/98, NT 4.0 and 2000. See File Manager. See Win 3.1/9x differences.

Program Manager
Program Manager uses resizable windows so you can group program icons to suit your work style. The individual icons at the bottom of the screen are minimized group windows. Many users find program launching easier with Program Manager than with the Start menu, and Program Manager was still available as an option in Windows 95/98, NT 4.0 and 2000.
