Pronia 

a river in Mogilev Oblast, Byelorussian SSR, a right tributary of the Sozh (Dnieper River Basin). It measures 172 km long and drains an area of 4,910 sq km. Originating on the Smolensk Upland, it is fed primarily by snow. The mean flow rate at the mouth is approximately 30 cu m per sec. There are flash floods in summer. The river freezes in late November, and the ice breaks up in late March. The cities of Gorki and Slavgorod are on the Pronia.


Pronia 

a river in Riazan’ and Tula oblasts, RSFSR, a right tributary of the Oka. It measures 336 km long and drains an area of 10,200 sq km. Originating on the northeastern slopes of the Central Russian Upland, it is fed primarily by snow. There is high water in spring and a low-water period in summer and fall. The mean flow rate at the mouth is approximately 50 cu m per sec. The river freezes in late November, and the ice breaks up in April. Timber is floated on the Pronia, which is navigable in the lower reaches. The city of Mikhailov is on the Pronia.
