(Expanse), a literary, artistic, and sociopolitical illustrated monthly magazine published by the Writers’ Union of Kazakhstan. It has appeared in Russian in Alma-Ata since 1933 (before 1960, under other names). Prostor publishes fiction, publicistic articles, essays, critiques, memoirs, and literary classics. Circulation, more than 35,000 (1975).
