Proteinoid
a protein-like substance obtained artificially in experiments that simulate primeval earth conditions. Certain proteinoids that have been obtained in this manner, that is, abiogenetically, have a molecular weight that reaches 10,000, as well as weak catalytic and hormonal activity. It is assumed that proteinoids are the precursors of proteins and that they were formed at low temperatures without the presence of enzymes. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
