Moorish Idol
(Zanclus cornutus), a fish of the family Zanclidae of the order Perciformes. The deep, laterally com-pressed body measures up to 20 cm long and is yellow with three black vertical stripes. The dorsal fin is greatly extended in front and the snout is elongated. Moorish idols are pelagic, heat-loving marine fish and are found near islands and coral reefs in the Pacific and Indian oceans.
