Puia 

a river in Arkhangel’sk Oblast, RSFSR; a left tributary of the Vaga River (Severnaia Dvina River basin). The Puia is 172 km long and drains an area of 2,500 sq km. It originates in the eastern spurs of the Niandoma Upland and is fed primarily by snow. The mean flow rate is approximately 25 cu m per sec. The river freezes in November, and the ice breaks up in late April or early May. Timber is floated on the Puia.
