This year's Puss In Boots, the crazy cat from ``Shrek 2,'' may well be a doe-eyed lemur named Mort that looks a little like one of the fuzzy creatures from ``Gremlins'' before they turned into little nightmares.
Fred Marcellino, whose Puss in Boots (Farrar) was a 1991 Caldecott Honor Book, died of colon cancer in his New York City home on July 12, 2001.
Wendy Laraghy and Jerry Opdenaker padded and pawed, making Puss in Boots quintessentially, well, catty.
