Puu o Mahuka Heiau State Monument Location: Off Pupukea Homestead Road (Highway 835) from Kamehameha Highway in Pupukea. Facilities: Cultural site. Special Features: Site contains Oahu's largest heiau (place of worship), a low-walled court platform-type temple with two adjoining smaller independent structures. It's likely that the site was used as a sacrificial temple, and it has been suggested that three of Captain George Vancouver's men may have been sacrificed here in 1792, when they came ashore to collect water.
