(medicine)
Spasm of the pylorus.

Pylorospasm

a disturbance of the motor function of the stomach accompanied by spasmodic intensification of the tonus of its sphincter. It may accompany such disorders as neuroses and gastric ulcers. Symptoms are pain that disappears after vomiting or irrigation of the stomach; regurgitation and vomiting in the case of newborns; and slight retention of contrast substance in the stomach upon X-ray examination. The disease is treated by means of frequent and light meals, the application of warmth to the stomach, and the administration of antispasmodics.
