QIC-Wide(Quarter Inch Cartridge-Wide) An enhanced version of QIC tape from Sony that provides more storage capacity. It increases recording density and uses wider .315" tape in a standard QIC Minicartridge with a redesigned housing. QIC-Wide drives support both QIC-Wide and QIC (DC2000) formats. The new SureStore drive offers 4 gigabytes of native capacity (up to 8GB with software data compression) and is fully compatible with QIC-Wide and Travan tape cartridges. |
