Qa'em Shahr

Qa'em Shahr (kä`ĕm shär), city (1991 pop. 123,684), Mazandaran prov., N Iran. Manufactures include textiles and food products; a thermal power plant is there. It is a road and rail transport center. The city was formerly called Shahi.

Methods In order to determine the present status of municipal solid waste management (MSWM) in the region, the authors sampled 10 major cities: Gonbad Kavous and Gorgan in the Golestan province; Qaemshahr, Sari, Babol, Ramsar, and Chalous in the Mazandaran province; and Rasht, Lihijan, and Bandar Anzali in the Guilan province.
