In April 2003, the unit recently had moved from An Nasiriyah to the Qalat Sukar area of central Iraq and had not yet established total control of the area.
They identified a probable training facility in the Governor's 13th Century Fort, which dominated the entire area surrounding the capital city of Qalat.
