Qitran Tabrizi, Abu-Mansur 

Born 1010 in the village of Shadi Abad, near Tabriz; died 1080. Azerbaijani poet. Wrote in the Persian language.

Qitran Tabrizi was a court poet at the Shadadyan palace in Gandzha from 1033 to 1034. His divan consists principally of qasidas devoted to the feudal rulers and historic events to which he had been witness. His poetry is characterized by its clarity of form and abundance of distinctive metaphors and similes. It has had an influence on the development of verse in the Persian and Turkic languages.
