qualification test

A formally defined series of tests by which the functional, environmental, and reliability performance of a component or system may be evaluated in order to satisfy the engineer, contractor, or owner as to its satisfactory design and construction prior to final approval and acceptance.

qualification test

The evaluation of a product (new, existing, or modified) to determine its acceptability for a given job or function or to determine if it conforms to requirements of an applicable specification.
