| may have strong theoretical potential, but getting an electrical current out of a quantum dot array may prove practically challenging, especially outside the lab. We're measuring the position and the chemical makeup of individual pieces of a quantum dot at a resolution of one-hundredth of a nanometer," Clarke said. Physically, quantum dots are nanometer-size semiconductor structures in which the presence or absence of a quantum |
