Refers to programs that remain in memory in order to interact with other programs or to be instantly popped up when required by the user. See TSR.


RAM resident [¦ram ′rez·ə·dənt]
(computer science)
A program that remains stored in a computer's random-access memory (RAM) at all times. Also known as terminate and stay resident (TSR).
