Radio-Tape Recorder

(in Russian, magnitola), a device for everyday use, combining a radio receiver and a tape recorder into a single unit. The advantage of such a combination of components results from the use of a common electronic amplifier, AC rectifier, and speakers. The Soviet electronics industry began producing the Rekord-301 and Miniia-4 radio-tape recorders in the early 1970’s.
