Location:At 5th Avenue and Reservoir Road in Jamestown, 3 miles south of Sonora.

Special Features:Park is home to the Historic Jamestown Shops and Roundhouse—an intact and still-functioning steam locomotive repair and maintenance facility, portions of which date back to 1897. This one-of-a-kind attraction combines industrial heritage and railroad history with the lore of Hollywood's film industry -- the park's historic locomotives and railroad cars have appeared in more than 200 films, TV productions, and commercials.

Railtown 1897 State Historic Park, operated by the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento, is a complex of railroad shops paying tribute to the Sierra Railroad, which once hauled passengers and freight along a route that included Jamestown, Angels Camp, Tuolumne and Oakdale.
