Rajkot

Rajkot (räj`kōt), city (1991 pop. 654,490), Gujarat state, W central India, on the Aji River. Formerly the capital of the Rajkot princely state (to 1948) and Saurashtra state (1948–56), Rajkot is a district administrative headquarters and a commercial, industrial, and educational center. Textiles are the most important manufacture. Poultry and cattle are raised nearby.

a city in India, in the state of Gujarat, on the Kathia-war peninsula. Population, 300,000 (1971). A commercial and transportation center, Rajkot has textile and food-processing industries. Its colleges are part of Gujarat University.

Madhu Babariya, a former MLA of Rajkot rural constituency and the fatherin- law of sitting BJP MLA Bhavna Babriya, was arrested with two accomplices, Pravinsinh Jadeja and Raju Chavda.
It is a shelter to many known cities including Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Bhavangar, Champaner, Mandvi, Jamnagar, Surat, Gandhinagar, etc.
