Ramée, Joseph Jacques (zhôzĕf` zhäk rämā`), 1764–1842, French architect. He left France in 1792 and was active in Germany (where he built the Hamburg Exchange) and in Denmark. He lived in the United States from 1811 to 1816 and drew the plan for Union College, Schenectady, N.Y.
