Rapti

a river in Nepal and India, a left tributary of the Gogra (Ganges River basin). It is more than 600 km long and drains an area of approximately 30,000 sq km. The Rapti originates on the northern spurs of the Siwalik Range, cutting through them in a narrow gorge; the lower course flows over the Indo-Gan-getic Plain. There are flash floods in the summer. The Rapti is used for irrigation. It is navigable below the city of Gorakhpur in India.
