Rathbone, Monroe J. (Jackson) (1900–76) oil executive; born in Parkersburg, W.Va. (great-nephew of General Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson). He finished a 44-year career with Standard Oil of New Jersey (later Exxon) as president (1954–65), CEO, and chairman of the board (1963–65), having greatly expanded the company's overseas production and sales. "Mr. Jack" was the most influential individual in his industry. His technical innovations included the fluid catalytic cracking process.
