Ratmanskii, Mikhail Samoilovich
Born 1900 in Odessa; died July 4, 1919. One of the organizers of the Komsomol in the Ukraine. Member of the Communist Party from 1916. Ratmanskii was the son of a worker. He worked in Kiev in a jewelry shop from 1912. He headed an illegal Social Democratic youth circle. After the February Revolution of 1917 he became a member of a group under the Kiev committee of the RSDLP(B) that initiated the first youth organization in the city. He was one of the founders of a socialist union of young workers in October 1917. Ratmanskii fought in the Kiev armed uprisings of October (November) 1917 and January 1918 and in the Civil War in the Ukraine. He was killed in battle. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
