Rattner, Abraham (1895–1978) painter; born in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. He studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (1917, 1919), and lived in Paris (1920–40) before returning to New York. He taught at several schools, including the New School, New York (1947–55) and Yale University (1952–53). He is known for his surrealistic and religious paintings, such as Moses (1957).
