Not to be confused with the easily changed "Volume" serial number, the HDSN is a permanent read-only attribute of a personal computer hard drive.
To do so, we used the DOS attrib command to clear all hidden, system, and read-only attributes, then used xcopy with the / e command-line switch to copy all subdirectories (/ e copies even empty subdirectories, while / s ignores empty directories).
The rest of do_it copies all of the OPAC files from the server down to the PC, resets some hidden, system, and read-only attributes, and then logs out of the LAN.
