RealMedia

A streaming media technology for the Internet from RealNetworks. Using the Real Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP), it is designed to handle any type of media, including audio, video, MIDI, text, animation and presentations. The RealMedia Architecture (RMA) allows multiple streams to be synchronized simultaneously; for example, sending images intermixed with audio.

Its video capabilities allow developers to incorporate video files in DVD-Video, Windows Media, RealMedia, QuickTime and Flash Video formats.
The Advanced Plan is for Web professionals running highly functional, complex sites, and it includes 1 GB of storage, 100 GB data transfer, Telnet and shell access, built-in support for programming languages such as Perl, PHP and Python, and 50 MB of RealMedia 8 server space.
These services currently support Windows Media and are scheduled to support RealMedia and QuickTime in the near future.
