Reasoner, Harry

Reasoner, Harry (1923–91) radio/television correspondent; born in Dakota City, Iowa. Originally a newspaper writer, he worked on local television news in Minneapolis in the 1950s, joining CBS News as a reporter in 1956. A founding coeditor of 60 Minutes in 1968, he left to anchor the ABC evening news (1970–78). Returning to 60 Minutes (1978–91), he published Before the Colors Fade (1981).
