Reciprocal 

a number whose product with a given number is equal to 1. For example, 5 and 1/5 are mutually reciprocal, as are —2/3 and —3/2. For any number a that is not equal to 0 there exists the reciprocal 1/a.

By a reciprocal cross between two species, I mean the case, for instance, of a stallion-horse being first crossed with a female-ass, and then a male-ass with a mare: these two species may then be said to have been reciprocally crossed.
If a man states that a wing is necessarily relative to a bird, the connexion between these two will not be reciprocal, for it will not be possible to say that a bird is a bird by reason of its wings.
