It winds through the 700,000-acre Daniel Boone National Forest, a rugged area characterized by steep forested ridges, narrow valleys, and more than 3,400 miles of cliffline. Area provides opportunities for outdoor adventure such as canoeing, rock climbing, and kayaking.
