Redditch, city (1991 pop. 61,639) and district, Worcestershire, central England. Redditch was designated one of the new towns new towns, planned urban communities in Great Britain, developed by long-term loans from the central government and first authorized by the New Towns Act of 1946.

Conducted by researchers from the University College Northampton SITA Center for Sustainable Wastes Management at Redditch Borough Council in the West Midlands, the study showed these new uses equated to 16 percent (1,998 cubic meters) of the authority's total potential need for landscaping material (12,187 cubic meters).
