RealMagic
One of the first MPEG playback boards for PCs from Sigma Designs, Inc., Milpitas, CA (www.sigmadesigns.com). RealMagic's video streaming technology is widely used in consumer electronic applications and supports advanced codecs such as H.264 and VC-1. Originally called ReelMagic, it also defined a programming interface that was the basis for OM1, now a de facto standard for interactive games.

With the the release of its ReelMagic MPEG controller in October 1993, Sigma Designs redefined affordable video playback for the PC.
