While Zaha Hadid designs the Dubai Opera House and Rem Koolhaas contemplates another extraordinary urban intervention, dumb architecture dominates the scene. Rem Koolhaas and Joshua Prince-Ramus, who were co-owners and partners in OMA New York, announced in May that they are changing their business relationship to allow Prince-Ramus and his whole New York team to operate independently. The most elaborate work in the exhibition was The Bordeaux Piece, 2004, a series of sixty-nine twelve-minute films of a single scene of love and betrayal whose setting, a house designed by Rem Koolhaas, was shot to resemble a modernist building. |
